Stewart Tucker

Tucker A. Stewart is General Counsel for his home-state Senator, Roger Marshall, M.D and was born and raised near Washington, Kansas. Growing up on a cattle ranch and diversified farming operation, Tucker was involved in nearly every aspect of the family business. Today, he still assists the farm operations when he’s not in D.C. fighting for the conservative values and interests of the agricultural community. This hands-on passion gives him a unique perspective on public policy and the practice of law in agriculture.

Tucker has made a career based around his passion for agriculture. He obtained degrees in Agriculture at Butler Community College and Animal Science at Kansas State University where he livestock judged competitively across the nation. After undergrad Tucker decided to forego a day-to-day life on the family ranch and attend law school. He graduated with honors from Washburn University School of Law, where he also founded the first ag-related student group, the Washburn Agricultural Law Society which is still active today.

Since then, Tucker has become a seasoned professional with a decade of experience in public policy, law, and government affairs. In law school he interned on the legal teams for the Dairy Farmers of America and the Kansas Department of Agriculture. He was in-house counsel and a government affairs representative for the Kansas Livestock Association where he was also the Director of the Dairy Council.

Tucker is a natural leader and was raised to ride for the brand. For Senator Marshall, he was brought on as Senior Agricultural Policy Advisor and has risen to be the Senator’s General Counsel. It’s in his nature to help others succeed and has been a mentor to new staff to ensure they have the tools necessary to succeed.

Less than 2% of people in the United States are involved in production agriculture and are responsible for feeding the other 98% including themselves. Tucker is proud to use his skills as a lawyer, negotiator, and policy expert to protect and fight for American agriculture.
